You would have noticed that Alisha, or more accurately, ‘Crazy Alisha’, does picture blog posts. If you were wondering why she only does pictures with comments its not because she is lazy or that she has nothing to write about.I lived at Hands Village with Alisha for a while before she left for Zambia and I can tell you it just hasn’t been the same since she’s been gone. At the crack of dawn, she’d be up before anyone else, putting away the dry dishes and cutlery from the racks ready for use by everyone else or she would be baking up some absurd storm consisting of various sweet treats to cheer someone up, to help someone cater for an event or just to remind people that they are special. She always did this without telling anyone because that’s who she is – a quiet servant – and the best servants often do what they do without being noticed.
You might see the photo of her sitting on the edge of the tallest waterfall in Mpumalanga and think exactly that – that she’s crazy – but it’s a picture of how she has chosen to live her life.
You might see ‘craziness’ but that is because she is confident. Confident of the everlasting hope she has in following Jesus.
Alisha is a living testimony of being ready and willing, being available and ready for whatever so that God can use her in radical ways beyond even her own abilities. And now she is in Zambia helping to build others to serve.
"For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?"-Matthew 16: 25-26
Alisha does picture blog posts because she wants to be your eyes, so you can see what she sees and where following Jesus has taken her!
